Located to 60 km to the south of Ilhéus, Una is characterized by the diversification of her agriculture and for the forests that are the only natural habitat, in the whole world, of the capuchin monkey-lion-give-face-gold, primate strongly threatened of extinction due to the hunt and to the deforestation of the Atlantic forest.
Sheltering the Biological Reservation of One, unit of conservation of integral protection administered by the Government Federal, Una is considered by scientists and environmentalists one of the most important areas of the planet for environmental conservation, due to the great number of animal species and vegetables, many of these happening exclusively in this area. Being added that an enormous wealth of waters, with rivers of medium load, as the Alliance, of Una, Saint Pedro, Sweet, Maruim and of the Mountain, that they coil amid the forest, cocoa plantations and vast growth of mangroves, the municipal district is accredited for the ecotourism, with the inauguration of an ecotourism park, to Rio Maruim's margins, it spies with the Biological Reservation, that he has as main attraction, a catwalk for the cup of the trees, with about 200 meters of extension.
Una has more than 50 km of beaches of sea open, several still deserted, bordered by wide plantations of coconuts, printing a strong tropical landscape. Of these beaches, they stand out the 18 km of the Island of Comandatuba, where an international hotel equipment, and the Balneário Ilha of the Fantasy is placed.
Another place of tourist interest is the town of Stones of Una, to 9 km of the city, a community of fishermen where with an abbreviation conversation it is gotten to rent a boat for wonderful walks for the mouth of the Rivers of Una and Maruim, and who knows until a fishery. For the most curious tourists, a visit to the cocoa farms is indispensable, but it can also see rubber tree plantations, palm oil, coconut, pupunha, pepper, açaí, mangostão, carnation and banana.
